Another Baby Rescued

Just a few weeks ago, Open Arms Village received a phone call from the local hospital. They needed a home for a three week old abandoned baby girl.

Immediately, an Open Arms social worker headed to the hospital to bring the baby to her new home at the Village.

The journey of this tiny baby began three weeks earlier. While a group of people were heading to work, they walked past a primary school and heard a baby crying.

They saw what appeared to be a bundle of clothes. Upon inspection, they opened the top of the bundle and saw a pair of beautiful eyes looking at them. It was a baby!

Somewhere near was a desperate mother who lovingly wrapped her child and carefully chose a location to leave her where she would be found.

They took the baby to the hospital and informed the police. Investigations were completed attempting to find her family but none bore any results.

Unfortunately, this is not an isolated incident. Many teenage girls are unable to care for their babies as a result of poverty, sexual assault and forced marriage.

Open Arms Village is among the few children’s homes in the area who are uniquely equipped to care for abandoned babies. This includes providing all the food, healthcare and clothes they will need, as well as a wonderful team of well trained and loving staff.

That baby girl is now part of our family and her name is Esther. This little one has a bright future ahead of her and we are happy to walk with her every step of the way.

Thank you for praying for Esther and making it possible for Open Arms to say "Yes!" when a baby needs help.

God bless you,
