Baby Prisca

Prisca's mother has been dealing with substance abuse issues for more than 25 years. She sought refuge on the streets when she was only 10 years old to escape the abject poverty in her home. It was a challenging journey with no food or water and she turned to sniffing glue to help her avoid the constant hunger.

In 2019, she became pregnant. Because her health was poor and she had been using substances during her pregnancy, baby Prisca was born very underweight. She lived with her mother on the streets for over three months. Because of her substance abuse, she would forget to feed her baby and often forgot where she had left the baby in the morning.

With time, tiny Prisca’s health had deteriorated drastically. She was underweight and malnourished. The mother's friends from the streets pleaded with her to take the baby to the hospital before she died. Baby Prisca was taken to the hospital and, soon after, she came to Open Arms Village. At almost four months old she barely weighed 4.5 lbs.

Thanks to you, Baby Prisca and many other babies are now receiving the type of special care they need to heal and grow.

Babies are expensive. Your help in caring for these precious little ones is greatly needed and so appreciated.

God bless you,
