Two years ago, Open Arms Village farm manager, Henry, promised that milk production at the dairy farm would increase. True to his word, milk production is now at approximately 37 gallons a day!
This is enough for all the Village children and house parents, all the children and staff at the school and more! The surplus is sold to staff and other members of the community.
The quality is superb. Kenyans are avid milk drinkers with a daily intake of about 32 ounces when it's available.
The staff at Open Arms Village are happy they are able to buy good quality milk for their children and families in their own homes.
This sustainability project is working! The Village has all the milk they need and the surplus is now creating an income.
Thank you for supporting Open Arms Village and providing a hand up...not a hand out.
God bless you,
Kaytie Fiedler
Executive Director, Open Arms International US
