Elijah

Elijah was found down by the river when a man was passing by early in the morning. He saw a baby's legs sticking out from the shrubs. He thought it was a dead body.

He picked up the baby’s body and ran to his village, looking for help. When the villagers peeled back the clothing, they found a plastic bag around Elijah's neck.

They thought they were going to take a dead body to the hospital, but when they loosened the bag the baby started breathing and coughing. They were in shock!

At the hospital, they took him into critical care. After he was nursed back to health, Open Arms Village was asked to take Elijah, knowing that he would need extra special care.

When he was one year old, Elijah was taken back to the hospital for an assessment. Everyone at the hospital was very happy to see him thriving. They were amazed to see his progress.

Open Arms continues giving him the care he needs to grow strong and healthy. Now, twelve years later, there is still no information about his mother or family.

Today, Elijah is doing well. He knows what it means to grow in hard places!

Left for dead, Elijah now has an amazing future ahead because you are providing him a place to grow. Other children like Elijah need your help, too.

Your continued support will allow Open Arms to welcome more abandoned children. Thank you for caring for children in desperate need.
