Chebaibai

Updated: May 2, 2022

During any crisis, we all look for hope. Community groups like Chebaibai (“joyful” in Swahili), the community group from Church at the Village, have been giving community members a place to learn, fellowship, and find hope.

One community group member said, “2020 has been a hard year for me and I am sure for others too. I could not do as much manual labor as I used to before the pandemic began and I was worried about my children being home. I was worried about being able to feed them and I was also worried about keeping them safe. Talking to others in the church group and praying with them helped to comfort me and reduced my levels of stress and anxiety.”

“There is something unique about having a small group to pray with within your community or around your house. It helps us to look at things in a different way and to discover how we can transform our community starting with ourselves. I thank Pastor Okeyo and other people from Open Arms for always thinking about us and joining us for Chebaibai when they can."

Your support of Open Arms is reaching outside the gates of Open Arms Village into the surrounding communities. Thank you for your prayers and gifts. You are making a difference in the lives of many in Kenya!
