As an intern, you are an integral part of a team that fulfills the mission to provide relief from physical, emotional, and spiritual suffering. You will have the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience working alongside our development team and launching our new monthly donor program. Internship runs from February 15, 2019 – June 28, 2019.
You can expect to gain valuable experience in social media communication, donor and volunteer acquisition, donor retention, database management, and more.
Part-Time (Approximately 10-15 hours per week) for four months.
Launch and grow the Just 12 campaign
Ensure new members are enrolled in OAI’s database system and sent welcome packets
Advertise campaign to attract new members
Work at your local campus to host an event or engage with students
Schedule meetings with the team as necessary
Record and send notes for team meetings
Collaboratively work with a team to ensure milestones are reached on time so the overall project is completed in a timely manner.
Internship runs from February 15, 2019 – June 28, 2019.
Winner will be selected based on merit during their internship time.
Open Arms International will pay for your airfare, 2-week stay at Open Arms Village, application fees, and special pass.
You will be responsible for a valid passport, Kenyan visa, vaccines, personal spending money, and any side trips you wish to add to your trip, such as safari.
Must travel with an Open Arms International Team to Kenya within 12 months of winning
How to Apply
Must be available to intern from February 15, 2019 – June 28, 2019
Must be able to contribute at least 8 hr. every week
Must be able to meet in the OAI office one-on-one at least 1 time a week
Must be able to attend intern meeting every second Saturday of every month at 9:00 AM
Actively seeking a bachelor’s degree
Minimum GPA: 2.8
How to Win
Interns will be ranked according to their performance during their 5-month internship. Need to meet 1,000 pt min to qualify. Examples are below:
OAI Hosted a campus event with 30+ attendees: +100 pts
Participate in call campaigns: +200 pts
Write a blog post: +60 pts
In the case of a tie, we will use a random selector or do a drawing.
You can lose points too. Here are a few examples.
Missing a Saturday meeting: -100 pts
Failing to turn in your weekly update and hours: -50 pts
Full list of potential point gains and loses will be provided at the first intern meeting on Saturday, Feb 16 at 9:00 AM in Clackamas, OR. Location will be given with acceptance letter.
